The Centre for Life Design exists to help build those tools. It is an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the study and practice of life design: bringing together design, behavioural and social sciences, education, philosophy and lived experience to understand how people make choices, navigate transitions and build lives and careers that are meaningful, resilient and adaptable.
The Centre moves beyond advice and prescription. It treats life as something we can engage with experimentally through reflection, reframing, prototyping, action and learning.
Our ambition is not simply to teach a framework, but to help develop a field. Building on the Stanford-born practice of Designing Your Life and our work across universities, schools, organisations and diverse life stages, the Centre will generate evidence, create new methods, convene thinkers and practitioners, and make life-design capability more widely accessible.
At its heart is a simple proposition: a good life is neither a fixed destination nor something we merely discover or inherit. It is something we can continually design, test, learn from and reimagine.
